Dance Etiquette--Tips for Beginner and Expert Alike!

Miscellaneous

Tipping the bartender, waitress, DJ is generally a good thing to do, assuming the service was to your liking. One, it rewards good behavior. Two, they are more likely to repeat behavior which results in a tip.

Stay off the floor when you're not dancing. When sitting along the outside, stay out of the way of dance traffic.

Enjoy yourself. Ask a stranger to dance. Meet someone new. Learn something at every dance.

Dance is about having fun and about good manners. You and your partners will enjoy yourselves if you treat everyone with consideration.

Avoid monopolizing the same partner unless they are a regular partner or your date. Part of the magic of dance is the opportunity to dance with more than one person.
